Wastewater Systems

The WMWC wastewater system includes a gravity collection system, one main wastewater pumping station with standby power, and a tertiary water recycling facility. All wastewater is treated to a tertiary level in an Advanced Integrated Pond System or AIPS, followed by microfiltration and disinfection. The recycling facility was designed to minimize electrical power demand while maximizing water quality and ease of operation. The system produces minimal sludge, which is expected to be removed once every 20+ years. Treated water is conveyed to the golf course ponds and blended with well water for course irrigation.
